Beijing Bayi School Student Visit

On 10 and 11 February, 110 students from Beijing Bayi School were in Jersey as part of a high-profile exchange programme with Hautlieu School.

Beijing Bayi School is one of the most prestigious in the country, and the current Chinese President is, in fact, a former pupil.

Interestingly, the school requested an itinerary which included historical fortification sites, and the CIOS was happy to assist.

After an initial contact with our President, Paul Burnal, arrangements were made for the students to visit Batterie Lothringen in two groups over the days. On each occasion, they were given guided tours of the Command Bunker and gun emplacements by our Vice-Presidents, Matthew Costard and Damien Horn, and the proceedings were filmed by Channel Television.
