Following our appeals in the local press recently, we have received a number of very interesting items for display at our upcoming Occupation Exhibition to be held Liberation Week.
Pictured above is a detail from a large framed picture showing the Red Cross ship SS Vega off Guernsey’s coast. It was made after Liberation using cigarette foil and is truly an amazing piece of art. The Society would like to thank Ms Kaye Temple for donating it and we look forward to sharing it with the public at our Exhibition, which is at St Mary’s Parish Hall Monday 4th May to Sunday 10th May 10:00am-4:00pm.
If you have any Occupation artefacts, please contact our Archivist Mr. Colin Isherwood at firstname.lastname@example.org. We accept donated items of course, but if you have anything interesting that you just want to share, we are happy to include them in our display.
