Remember this ledger donated to the Society recently? We have scanned it and put a digital copy online which you can read on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
The book of cuttings and public notices compiled by the late William George Charles Brown, B.E.M. during the German Occupation of Jersey 1940 - 1945. His son Roger saw our Archivist Colin Isherwood in the press recently, discussing the Occupation. It is a truly fascinating document which reveals a lot about what life was like back then. We are pleased to be able to share it with the public, and we hope this will encourage others to come forward with more items.
Colin is looking for interesting items to include in our upcoming Occupation Exhibition held Monday 4th May to Sunday 10th May at St Mary Parish Hall. If you have anything to share please contact Colin by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
