CIOS Jersey and CIOS Guernsey joint working event

Last weekend members of CIOS Jersey travelled to Guernsey to work in conjunction with CIOS Guernsey at an Occupation food event.

The event was entitled ‘Living Off the Land’ and was held on Sunday 29th April in the Victorian Walled Kitchen Garden at Saumarez Park.

Jersey members Colin Isherwood and Wendy Brée worked with CIOS Guernsey members, serving parsnip coffee, carrot tea, carrot and beetroot jam, sugar beet syrup and milk biscuits, to hundreds of visitors to the event, which included the Lt. Governor Sir Ian Corder and the Bailiff of Guernsey Sir Richard Collas.

The event was hugely popular and is likely to be held again next year.
